Arquímides Ordóñez scored three goals in 51 minutes Aug. 22, powering FC Tulsa to a 5-1 rout of Orange County SC at Championship Soccer Stadium in Irvine, California, according to the club's match recap. It was the Scissortails' largest victory of the 2026 season.

The Guatemalan forward, known as "Quimi," needed just four minutes to open the scoring, pouncing on a loose ball in the box for FC Tulsa's fastest goal of 2026. He doubled the lead in the 20th minute after Orange County gifted him possession with an errant back pass.

Orange County's Christopher Hegardt pulled one back in the 47th minute, but any momentum shift was short-lived. In the 55th minute, the hosts' goalkeeper mishandled a long ball from Ian Carlo Souza Daniel, and Ordóñez calmly finished for his third. All three goals were his first in a Tulsa kit, and the hat trick was the fastest in club history, joining Jesús Ferreira (Sept. 5, 2018, at Seattle Sounders FC 2) and Luca Sowinski (Oct. 1, 2022, at Indy Eleven) as the only players to accomplish the feat.

FC Tulsa wasn't done. Kalil ElMedkhar drew a foul on a fast break in the 69th minute, and Delentz Pierre curled the resulting free kick into the bottom left corner for his first career FC Tulsa goal. Three minutes later, Logan Dorsey finished off a feed from Giordano Colli to cap the scoring.

Two days before the match, Pierre predicted the new additions would gel. "I think it just takes time. These things don't just click overnight," he said in an Aug. 20 match preview. "Our new guys like Will, Logan and Wilson are all starting to work well with each other. I think in the coming weeks it's going to show."

Wilson Eisner, one of those new arrivals, made his Scissortails debut off the bench in the 63rd minute. Remi Cabral returned to the starting lineup for the first time since June 20.

The offensive explosion answered a prolonged drought. The Aug. 20 match preview noted FC Tulsa had managed just three goals in its previous six matches. Head coach Luke Spencer acknowledged the problem before the road trip: "We need to put the ball in the back of the net," he said. "Providing more clarity as to how we get that right has been the focus as of late."

His players responded with five goals on 10 shots on target against a club near the top of the Western Conference. It was the eighth time in FC Tulsa history the team scored at least five goals; the previous five-goal outing was a 5-2 win over New Mexico United on Aug. 9, 2025.

FC Tulsa returns home Aug. 29 to face Rhode Island FC at ONEOK Field. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. CT, with the match airing on Tulsa CW and streaming on ESPN+.
