Danya Fesler was sentenced to 10 years in prison Aug. 24, after pleading guilty to one count of accessory to murder in the death of 25-year-old Eryion Tecson, who was struck and killed by a car outside a Jenks home in December 2025.

Fesler's boyfriend, Uriel Cazares, who police say drove the car that killed Tecson, remains a fugitive. The Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

Tulsa County Judge David Guten presided over the sentencing hearing, where six of Tecson's family members delivered victim-impact statements, according to KJRH. Among them were Tecson's mother, Lakeisha Stephens, and her father, Eric Tecson.

Eric Tecson said the family got "the best justice that we could get in this situation" and that they want to build a legacy for his daughter so people know "you don't have to shy away from trying to do the right thing for people."

What happened on Dec. 7, 2025

Tecson, described by Jenks police as a good Samaritan, encountered Fesler at a convenience store around 3 a.m. on Dec. 7, 2025, after Cazares had kicked Fesler out of his car on the highway during an argument, according to KJRH's earlier reporting. Tecson agreed to drive Fesler to a family member's home in Jenks.

About an hour later, Cazares arrived at the home and argued with Fesler. When Tecson got out of the car, police say Cazares sped up and struck her with his vehicle.

She died at the scene.

Officers responding reported smelling alcohol on Cazares' breath. He told police he had consumed a Beatbox drink but "felt fine." His speech was slurred, and an empty Beatbox container was found under the vehicle, according to the police report.

Court documents state Fesler admitted to making false claims about Tecson's behavior before the collision to help Cazares.

Cazares, also known as Cazares Vega, was 19 at the time of the incident and was initially arrested on manslaughter complaints. Investigators later elevated the charge to first-degree murder.

He failed to appear for his preliminary hearing and has been on the run since late 2025. Attorney General Gentner Drummond added Cazares to the office's 10 Most Wanted list in December 2025.

Judge Guten addressed the Tecson family at the close of Monday's hearing, telling them he could see the impact Eryion had and that her life mattered.

The family said their focus now turns to finding Cazares. Anyone with information on his whereabouts can contact the Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General.
