Tulsa takes its 3-0 record and No. 7 scoring defense to Arkansas on Saturday, Sept. 26. The game in Fayetteville is the Golden Hurricane's first road test against a Power Four opponent this season.

Kickoff is 7 p.m. CT on SEC Network+. Arkansas (1-2) is favored by 8.5 points.

Second-year head coach Tre Lamb has Tulsa off to its best start since 2008. The Golden Hurricane opened with a 24-10 win over Oklahoma State on Sept. 5 and won 23-17 at Sam Houston on Sept. 12.

They followed with a 42-0 shutout of East Texas A&M on Sept. 19, the program's first shutout since Oct. 26, 2002, according to the Tulsa World.

The biggest question heading to Fayetteville is who plays quarterback. Starter Baylor Hayes suffered a sprained knee during the Sam Houston game and sat out the East Texas A&M blowout.

Lamb said at his Sept. 14 press conference that he expected Hayes back for Arkansas week: "I expect him to be fully back and ready to go Arkansas week."

But the Tulsa World reported after the shutout that the injury might be more problematic than initially described. That raises the possibility that Dexter Williams II gets a second consecutive start.

Williams, a seventh-year senior who previously played at Indiana, Georgia Southern and Kennesaw State, threw for 164 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions in the 42-0 win, according to KRMG.

Tulsa's defense allows 9 points per game and leads the FBS in red zone defense, letting opponents score on just 28.6% of trips inside the 20. The Golden Hurricane also own a plus-4 turnover margin, 11th nationally.

Defensive end Thomas Davis has piled up 4.0 sacks, 3.0 tackles for loss and eight tackles in three games.

The ground game has matched the defense's production. Tulsa has rushed for 661 yards and seven touchdowns through three games, with explosive runs of 81, 56 and 51 yards, according to Sports Illustrated.

Running back Damari Alston leads the backfield with 186 yards and three touchdowns on 36 carries. Trequan Jones has added 174 yards and two scores.

The Golden Hurricane convert just 24.4% of third downs, 133rd in the FBS. They have compensated by going 8-of-10 on fourth down and generating five plays of 40-plus yards, tied for fifth nationally.

Arkansas enters under first-year head coach Ryan Silverfield. The Razorbacks average 19.3 points per game on offense (122nd in FBS) and allow 34 per game on defense.

Quarterback K.J. Jackson has thrown for 618 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions. Wide receiver Chris Marshall leads the receiving corps with 246 yards on 19 catches.

The Razorbacks' minus-3 turnover margin ranks 119th in the FBS.

After the trip to Fayetteville, Tulsa returns home to face North Texas on Thursday, Oct. 1. Arkansas heads to No. 23 Texas A&M on Saturday, Oct. 3.
