Someone is posing as a Tulsa State Fair representative and contacting vendors about booth space, fair organizers warned Sept. 12.

The scammer has been reaching out to vendors offering space at the fair and requesting payment, according to a statement the Tulsa State Fair shared with KTUL. The communications are not authorized by or affiliated with the fair, organizers said.

Fair officials urged anyone who receives an unsolicited message offering vendor or concession space not to send money. They also warned against sharing personal or financial information.

The fair said it is investigating and working to prevent others from being targeted. The statement did not mention law enforcement involvement.

How to verify a message

Anyone who has received a suspicious communication, or receives one going forward, can email [email protected] to confirm whether the message is legitimate.

The 2026 Tulsa State Fair opens Oct. 1 and runs through Oct. 11 at Expo Square, 4145 E. 21st St.
