Jason Mojica carried 26 times for a career-high 156 yards and three touchdowns as Owasso beat No. 1 Class 6AII Stillwater 21-6 on Friday, Sept. 25, at Owasso Stadium.

The Rams entered the game at 1-2 after early-season losses to Bixby and Broken Arrow, according to the Tulsa World. The win over a top-ranked opponent gives Owasso its best momentum of the season heading into district play.

Mojica set the tone early. He scored on a 5-yard run with 7:53 left in the first quarter to put Owasso up 7-0. Stillwater answered before halftime when quarterback Satank Taptto hit Chandler Johnson on a 7-yard touchdown pass with 5:35 remaining in the second quarter. The extra-point kick failed, leaving Owasso ahead 7-6 at the break.

Mojica then broke a 17-yard touchdown run with 24 seconds left in the third quarter to push the lead to 14-6. His third score, a 5-yard plunge with 2:02 remaining in the fourth, sealed it.

Owasso's defense held Stillwater to 169 total yards, including just 27 on the ground. A fourth-and-5 stop of Taptto late in the game preserved the lead before Mojica's final score.

The Rams piled up 303 total yards. They rushed 44 times for 230 yards and went 12-of-17 passing for 73 yards.

Blankenship said Stillwater's defense played a high-risk, high-reward style that produced stops behind the line. He said the Rams' plan was to keep pounding the ball until they broke through.

The game was the first meeting between the programs since 2013 and the 31st all-time, according to Owasso Sports Zone. Owasso now holds an 18-13 series advantage.

Stillwater committed seven penalties for 60 yards and lost two fumbles. Owasso was flagged four times for 35 yards and lost one fumble.
