Laken Lee fumbled deep in Holland Hall territory in the fourth quarter on Friday, Sept. 18. Within 71 seconds, Metro Christian scored twice and Lee himself raced 90 yards the other way to seal a 34-24 victory.

The Class 3A No. 4 Patriots pulled away from Holland Hall in a Week 3 matchup between two Tulsa private schools, the Tulsa World's Barry Lewis reported.

Lee's fumble gave Holland Hall possession and a chance to extend its lead. Metro Christian trailed 24-21 at that point. But Finn Kouplen answered with a 25-yard touchdown run that put the Patriots ahead 28-24.

Holland Hall still had time. The Dutch drove the length of the field on their final possession, reaching the Metro Christian 2-yard line. A pass interference penalty on Metro Christian set up an untimed down, giving Holland Hall one more snap to win the game. The Dutch called their last timeout before the play.

On that untimed down, Holland Hall attempted a lateral. Lee grabbed the loose ball and sprinted 90 yards untouched for a touchdown. The score pushed the final margin to 34-24.

The play was officially ruled a fumble recovery, not an interception, according to Lewis, who covered the game for the Tulsa World.

The win moved Metro Christian to 2-1 on the season, according to News On 6 sports producer Scott Pfeil. Cayden McFarland, sports director at 2 News Oklahoma, noted on X that the Patriots scored their final two touchdowns in just 71 seconds.

Metro Christian competes in Class 3A while Holland Hall is classified in Class 2A-I, making the Sept. 18 contest a non-district game for both teams. Schedules for each team's next game were not available at publication.
