One person died and another was hospitalized after a fiery two-car crash in Bixby on Thursday, Sept. 17.

Bixby Police officers responded to East 151st Street South and South Hudson Avenue just after 4 p.m. after callers reported a car fire with someone trapped inside, according to KJRH.

First responders found two vehicles that had collided. One was engulfed in flames.

The person inside the burning vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, Bixby Police told KJRH. Paramedics transported a second person from the other vehicle to a local hospital. Police have not released that person's condition.

Police said they are withholding the names of both people involved until next of kin are notified. The cause of the crash has not been determined, and the investigation is ongoing.

East 151st Street South, also designated as Highway 67, was shut down between Yale Avenue and Sheridan Avenue while crews worked the scene. KJRH reported the road had reopened by Thursday evening.
