Broken Arrow volleyball head coach Ian Bullen has reached 500 career wins, a milestone he secured with victories over Deer Creek and Owasso.

Bullen is in his 26th year leading the Lady Tigers program. Broken Arrow Athletics announced the achievement on Facebook on Aug. 21, noting the wins over Deer Creek and Owasso pushed Bullen past the 500 mark. The post added that the Lady Tigers were back on the court that same afternoon at 4:30 p.m., with BA Tournament action resuming the next morning at the BA Event Center.

"I don't take it for granted," Bullen said in a video interview with ArrowVision's Dylan Rivera posted Monday, Sept. 14.

The school's athletics department shared the interview on both Instagram and X, calling the 500-win mark an incredible milestone. The Instagram reel drew 139 likes. On X, the official @batigersports account picked up 293 impressions, seven likes and four retweets.

26 years, one program

Bullen has spent his entire head-coaching career at Broken Arrow. Few high school volleyball coaches in Oklahoma can claim that kind of longevity at a single school.

His resume extends beyond wins. Bullen was named the 2020 Region 7 Coach of the Year and the 2020 Oklahoma Coaches Association State Coach of the Year, according to a Broken Arrow Athletics post. Those honors came during a stretch that has kept the Lady Tigers competitive at the state level year after year.

The Lady Tigers play their home matches at the BA Event Center, the same venue where the team hosted its late-August tournament.
